I am excited to share with you that the Utah State Board of Education announced the release of the application for schools to participate in the pilot phase of the Competency-based Learning Exploratory Team.
This comes after Utah lawmakers passed Senate Bill 143 in 2016, creating the Competency Based Education Pilot Program to advance student mastery of concepts and skills.
The application gives local education authorities (LEAs) an opportunity to join an exploratory team to conduct site visits during 2017-2018 to help inform the Utah pilot program creation and the application of competency-based learning best practices in the state.
The applications are due by 5 p.m. MST on May 15 and are available by clicking here.
If you have questions, please email Sarah Young, the state’s Coordinator for Digital Teaching and Learning.
