#ThrowbackThursday A Look Back at How Far We’ve Come!
Back in 2008, ExcelinEd hosted the 1st Annual National Summit on Education Reform in Orlando, Florida. The idea was to create a first-class lineup of inspiring speakers and offer targeted strategy sessions featuring policy experts, legislators and educators to share proven and next-generation policy solutions for improving learning for all students. As we prepare to host our 10th Annual National Summit this November, our goal remains the same: to equip attendees with the knowledge, know-how and a network of experts to champion students in every classroom across America.
Over the next ten weeks, we will countdown the most memorable moments and highlight some of our favorite keynote speakers. Join us in the conversation on social media by using #EIEHistory!
It Started with a 3 GB iPod Nano… In 2008, Governor Jeb Bush gave the first welcome speech in ExcelinEd’s National Summit on Education Reform history. Keynote and general session speakers for this summit featured Michael Bloomberg, former U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings, John Stossel, former First Lady Barbara Bush and former NYC Chancellor of Education Joel Klein.
