Governor Jeb Bush, founder and chairman of the Foundation for Excellence in Education (ExcelinEd) released the following statement on the signing of Tennessee’s Education Scholarship Account legislation.
“With his signature on this historic legislation, Governor Bill Lee is expanding education opportunities for thousands of families in the great state of Tennessee.
“I applaud Governor Lee, Lt. Governor Randy McNally and the Tennessee legislative leadership — especially House Speaker Pro Tem Bill Dunn and Senate Education Chair Dolores Gresham — for keeping their sights firmly on students and giving them the life-changing opportunities that education scholarship accounts provide.
“With each passing year, Tennessee’s children are benefitting from statewide improvements to their education, and I commend Governor Lee for continuing to chart a bold course on their behalf.”
With an education scholarship account, parents can direct education funding for their child to the schools, courses, programs and services of their choice, including school tuition, curriculum, tutoring, testing and therapies for students with learning disabilities.
