I’m pleased to share with you that the Nevada Department of Education announced they are now accepting applications for their Competency-Based Education Network. School districts wishing to implement an innovative approach that allows flexibility in the classroom can join the network to study and establish recommendations for implementing personalized learning initiatives statewide.
Nevada is empowering schools to create a flexible path that allows students to advance to higher levels of learning when they demonstrate mastery of concepts and skills. Nevada is also empowering educators to be innovative and design classes, schedules and staffing to best meet their students’ individual needs.
With the passage of legislation last year creating the Competency-Based Education Network, Nevada joined a growing list of states developing innovative approaches to education. ExcelinEd is proud to be a partner on many of these efforts. We look forward to following along with Nevada’s continued progress toward a flexible, student-centered system.
