Governor Jeb Bush will open the Foundation for Excellence in Education’s (ExcelinEd) 12th annual National Summit on Education Reform on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in San Diego, California.
“Today’s students need transformative change. They need schools that are academically accountable—and meaningful options when they’re not. They need skilled teachers with innovative approaches. And they need well-designed pathways into college and a great job, with 21st-century skills to succeed no matter where their dreams take them,” said Governor Jeb Bush, founder and chairman of ExcelinEd.
“Many of us have been working on this long enough to know what it takes to get there. In the past 20 years, Florida has seen what a former U.S. Secretary of Education recently called an ‘educational renaissance.’ Yet it was not one piece of legislation, one policyor one set of ideas that achieved that result. It takes bold approaches, innovative thinking and sustained work by committed leadersto transformeducation so that all children can learn and succeed.”
During the 2019 National Summit on Education Reform, ExcelinEd and Governor Jeb Bush will host more than 1,000 legislators, state superintendents, policymakers and thought leaders working to build a brighter future for our nation’s families. The packed two-day event will feature notable keynote speakers and in-depth strategy sessions on how to measure and report the quality of education, incentivize student achievement, recruit and retain the best teachers and expand choices for parents and students.
