Yesterday, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey kicked off the state’s 2017 legislative session with opening remarks on how Arizona can improve its education system to create “boundless opportunities” for the next generation.
In a forward-looking speech, Governor Ducey focused on Arizona’s efforts to raise academic achievement and expand educational opportunities to students and their families.
“Arizona students are improving faster in math and reading than any other kids in the country. We’ve been a leader on school choice, and we will continue to be a leader. Our public charters are leading the nation and the world in outcomes for our students.” – Governor Doug Ducey
While celebrating Arizona’s progress, Governor Ducey stressed that “now is not the time to be content, or complacent. Because the next generation of Arizonans – especially those facing challenges and hardships – are counting on us to rise to the occasion, and do everything in our power to create boundless opportunity in the state of Arizona.”
