Send ExcelinEd to SXSW EDU 2018!

• ExcelinEd

ExcelinEd needs your help to get on the agenda for SXSW EDU 2018! Public voting has officially opened for this year’s #PanelPicker sessions, and a seal of approval from the public is worth 30 percent of the total score. Check out our session ideas below and vote for your favorite session (or all three, because voting is unlimited).

Building a Consensus for Personalized Education

Making the transition to a personalized and mastery-based education system is no small feat. State and school leaders must be prepared with effective communications strategies to gain buy-in and overcome myths or negative messages. This interactive session features real-life examples and effective strategies developed from national message testing and includes our State Communications Director, Joe Follick, as well as speakers from KnowledgWorks and Echelon Insights.

Developing Aligned Pathways to Career Readiness

Career pathways aligned to workforce demand create life-changing opportunities for students, and act as an economic engine for states and regions. Yet too often, career and technical education programs are not closely aligned to regional and state workforce needs. Session panelists (including our Director of Next Generation Learning, Quentin Suffren) will explore critical steps policymakers and practitioners can take to align and support programs to increase strong outcomes for students.

Personalized Learning and Gubernatorial Candidates

It’s election season, and we invite you to come and watch two candidates in a mock town hall forum. They will present their education platforms and debate the merits of retaining current school structures or shifting to a personalized, mastery-based learning ecosystem. Audience members will be given the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences as learners and educators. This interactive session features speakers from KnowledgeWorks, as well as our Vice President of Policy, Lizzette Reynolds.

You can vote as many times as you want for as many panels as you want! We hope you will vote for our sessions and encourage you to check out some of the other #PanelPicker sessions at
