ExcelinEd.Headshot.JenniferDiaz.webMeet Jennifer Diaz

ExcelinEd’s Vice President of Communications

You know the saying “You learn something new every day”? This is part of what I love about working at ExcelinEd. I am constantly learning and engaging with policy and advocacy experts, our 300+ partner groups, dedicated education reporters and families from across the country. But best of all, I know I’m part of a nationwide movement of individuals and organizations working toward a common goal. We may not always agree on how to get there, but we all believe that kids deserve our best ideas on how to ensure everyone can learn and reach his or her greatest potential.

Check out some of the links below for my recommended summer learning resources. Have a great summer!

My Favorite Podcast

My favorite podcast is The Education Gadfly Show, produced by the Fordham Institute. This weekly podcast always has an interesting take on the latest education news. I especially like how the hosts oftentimes relate super wonky issues to everyday life and pop culture. And I’ll plug one of the best episodes yet—IMHO—featuring ExcelinEd’s own Karla Phillips talking about personalized learning.

My Favorite Quote

“We are just moms and dads. We are just people that want our kids to have equality and a great education.”

Kelley Williams-Bolar, Ohio parent speaking at the 2017 National Summit on Education Reform
