Stories of Choice — Stories of Success.
Every child and every family is unique. So are their education needs. There is no “one size fits all” school or educational model that works for everyone. That is why it is important for students and families to have the freedom to choose the pathway that best meets their needs, whether that is a different public school, charter, magnet, private school, virtual/blended, or homeschool.
The 2017 Choices in Education video competition elevated stories of school choice success from across the country and highlighted the value that choices in education bring to individuals, communities and education systems.
The Choices in Education video competition invited students, guardians and alumni of existing choice programs, as well as people who want more educational choice in their state, to submit a short video explaining in their own words how educational choice changes lives.
Hundreds of entries were submitted from families coast to coast and narrowed down to 15 finalists.
The three Grand Prize Winners and three Runners-up were chosen by a panel of judges from national organizations representing a broad spectrum of educational choice options. The two People’s Choice Winners were chosen through online public voting.
