Nathan Hoffman

Nathan Hoffman is the Senior Director, State Policy & Advocacy for ExcelinEd. An accomplished and recognized leader in the education reform movement, Nathan has served in various roles at state-based and national organizations, including Empower Illinois and the American Federation for Children, where he has successfully pursued legislation to empower families and strengthen the overall quality of the education system.

He’s appeared before state legislatures as well as been a featured speaker to groups across the country seeking to address today’s K-12 challenges. A resident of Chicago and lifelong Illinoisan, Nathan is no stranger to complex political and legislative battles.

Nathan grew up in Springfield, IL where he graduated from Springfield High School and attended the University of Illinois-Springfield, serving as Student Trustee for the University of Illinois-System his senior year. He’s a member of the Board of Advisors for the Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism and a past board member of the Springfield Public Schools Foundation.

When he’s not fighting for a better education for all students, Nathan can be found cheering on the Fighting Illini Men’s Basketball team and coaching the Lincoln Park High School Cross Country and Track and Field teams in Chicago.
