Foundation for Excellence in Education
"The September 2007 report, “How the World’s Best-Performing School Systems Come Out on Top,” from McKinsey and Company suggests that the three things that matter most are 1) getting the right people to become teachers; 2) developing them into effective instructors and, 3) ensuring that the system is able to deliver the best possible instruction for every child."

Excellence in Teaching was created by the Foundation for Excellence in Education to learn and share the secrets of successful teaching from effective educators. The initiative uses data, provided by the Florida Department of Education, to recognize up to 110 exceptional Florida educators whose students demonstrate the most progress on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test for three years .

The Excel Award Winners receive prizes, including cash and gifts for themselves and their schools, at the annual Celebration of Teaching event hosted by Governor Jeb Bush.
