Arts for Life!
Art enriches our lives, our communities and our culture. An education in the arts helps students develop essential skills, such as critical thinking, self-discipline and confidence, which are vital to success in school and beyond.
Former First Lady Columba Bush created Arts for Life! in 1999 to help high school seniors pursue their passion for the arts after graduation. Arts for Life! annually awards $1,000 cash scholarships to 25 Florida graduating high school seniors who demonstrate academic and artistic excellence in the visual arts, music, dance, drama and creative writing.
Since 1999, the program has awarded scholarships to more than 200 talented students. View the photo gallery of our 2009 Scholarship Winners.
The application period for the 2010-2011 school year opens on Friday, October 1, 2010. Applications must be received by or postmarked on Monday, February 1, 2010.
