Adam Schaeffer

Adam B. Schaeffer is a policy analyst The Cato Institute’s Center for Educational Freedom.  Schaeffer is a former National Research Initiative Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and adjunct scholar at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. He has commented on a range of political issues in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, National Review Online, and RealClearPolitics.  Schaeffer received his Ph.D. in American politics, with a focus in political behavior, media effects, and coalitional politics, from the University of Virginia and his MA in Social Science from the University of Chicago. His dissertation assessed the potential for different combinations of private school choice policies and messages to expand and mobilize elite and mass support. Schaeffer has an extensive background in online survey development, messaging experiments, and the strategic analysis of message, policy, and audience interactions.
