Christy L. Hovanetz is a Senior Policy Fellow at the Foundation for Excellence in Education.  She served as the Director of Evaluation and Reporting, Director of Reading First and a Policy Analyst for (then) Governor Jeb Bush.  Hovanetz has served as the Assistant Commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Education and Assistant Deputy Commissioner at the Florida Department of Education.  She is a certified teacher in Minnesota, has a BS in Education with a minor in Mathematics from St. Cloud State University, MPA from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from the Askew School at Florida State University.
